The tour departs from Kaiteriteri and paddles north towards the tip of Split Apple Rock. Although this section is not very long, it offers many interesting spots to explore.
The kayaking portion is ideal for beginners and starts with a safety briefing and instructions to help you get comfortable using the kayaks. The itinerary may vary depending on the tides, which change daily.
After completing your kayaking adventure, you will board a scenic cruise to discover the park's stunning beaches and encounter the local seals.
You will visit the famous Split Apple Rock and a New Zealand fur seal colony, where you will have the opportunity to observe the kekeno (the Māori name for fur seals) in their natural habitat. At certain times of the year, you may even see seal pups playing alongside the boat.
Our skippers and guides will share the fascinating history of Abel Tasman National Park throughout the journey and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. We want to ensure that you make the most of your time with us!
After observing the New Zealand fur seals on Adele Island, you will disembark at Anchorage and enjoy the beach or take the 1.5-hour Pitt Head Loop Track to Te Pukatea Bay.
